Sikh woman in Canada designs helmets that fit over turbans for her kids

By Shubhi Mishra: A Sikh woman in Canada is earning plaudits on the internet for designing a helmet that could accommodate her sons' turbans as well. Wearing a helmet is necessary for safety while riding a bicycle and in many countries it is the law. But, the woman named Tina Singh couldn't find a single one on the market for her kids. So, she took matters into her own hands and created a helmet.
Tina Singh, a mother of three, couldn't find a single helmet for her sons to fit over their turban. "I was frustrated that there wasn't a safe option in sports helmets for my kids," she told CBC News. So, she designed a turban-appropriate helmet herself. These are the first safety-certified multisport helmets designed specifically for kids like hers, as per CBC News. It took Tina two years to work on and test different helmet versions for the safety of her children.
