Surjit Singh, who was the main witness of Behbal Kalan firing incident, passed away on January 16 following heart attack. His mortal remains were consigned to flames on the same day at Behbal Kalan’s crematorium.

Surjit Singh’s wife Jasveer Kaur, family members and relatives informed that the Electricity department used to harass him because he was the main witness of Behbal Kalan firing incident. Following this, Surjit Singh was living a pressurized life and mostly used to remain upset.

The family members of Surjit Singh also accused Sikh organizations working on sacrilege issue of not supporting him despite witnessing before all inquiry commissions and courts by putting his life at risk.
