Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) has sought a white paper on the telecast of Gurbani from Harmandar Sahib. Amritsar, by an electronic channel and on the quantum of fee received by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) from the channel.

It has also sought to know how the fee has been used for the benefit of the Sikh community. SAD (Sanyukt) national general secretary Damanvir Singh Phillaur has written an open letter to SCPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami to release the white paper. In the letter, Phillaur said everyone knew that a private electronic channel, owned by the Badal family, had been enjoying the sole right to telecast gurbani from Golden Temple. There are allegations that the channel commercialized gurbani and accumulated funds by selling it," said Phillaur.
