Drop fake charges against Bhai Papalpreet Singh or face the music, Sikh leaders ask Punjab government

Several Sikh leaders belonging to Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala and Jatha Himmat-e-Khalsa have demanded that the false indictment of anti-drug activist Bhai Papalpreet Singh should be cancelled immediately. Notably, Bhai Papalpreet Singh was falsely indicted under attempt to murder charges by the Majitha police on June 23.

Taking on the Congress led Punjab government, these Sikh youth leaders have said that on one side the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh makes large claims of eradicating Drug menace in Punjab but on the other hand, the Sikh youths working against the Drug menace are being framed in fake cases. SYFB president Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala and senior vice president Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal have said that the Sikh community won’t tolerate false indictment of Sikh youths at any cost and the Punjab government should immediately drop fake charges against Bhai Papalpreet Singh. “We won’t refrain from launching a fierce agitation if the Punjab government doesn’t cancel the fake indictment of Bhai Papalpreet Singh under attempt to murder charges,” they added.

They further said that Bhai Papalpreet Singh is a Sikh activist who works for the preachment of Sikhism and remain always ready to help the needy people. “The false indictment of Bhai Papalpreet Singh has proved that the Punjab police works under the pressure of politicians indulged in Drug trade,” they added.
